Day 1 AREQUIPA - BASE CAMP
07:00 am pick up from your hotel in Arequipa and transport in a private
car to start our excursion to Chachani, our route is by Cabrerias,
Cañahuas, National Reserve of Aguada Blanca, if possible we will watch
the wild vicuñas on the way between El Misti and Chachani Mountains.
At 09:00 am we will arrive to the back face (north face) (4,200 masl -
12,000 ft.). At 10:00 aprox. start the trek for east side until 5,200
masl (17,300 ft.) sandy slope, with reddish colorations, ash & volcanic
tufo. In little time we will be behind of the Chachani volcano (north
side) with view toward the pampas of the National Reservation of Aguada
Blanca and Cañaguas. At 12:00 m. lunch and brief rest, 16:00 camp base.
Dinner and spend the night at 5,200 masl. (L,D)
Day 2 SUMMIT AND RETURN TO AREQUIPA
03:00 pm breakfast 04:00 restart of the ascension. This ascension is
harder and takes 6 hours approx. with slight equipment, attack to the
pick Chachani for the col and base of the coronado pick, then we pass
toward the front side, view arequipa, then through the pick Angel and
Fatima hill. Take a rest at 5,800 masl, then attack to the summit.
11:00 approx. raises the Chachani (6,075 masl). (summit) 12:30 lunch and
return to camp base, 15:30 camp bases, slope to camp., transportation,
snack, pick up camp etc. and return in our car to Arequipa, arriving
around 17:30 pm. Transfer to your hotel (B,L)

bottled water, snacks. Insurance of any kind, laundry, phone calls,
radio calls or messages. Reconfirmation of flights and items of personal
nature.
We recommend you to bring or rent:
Crampons, Ice axe, Sleeping bag, Flash light, Gloves, Hat (with
protection for your ears), Several layers of warm clothes, Two pairs of
socks, Sun block, Mountain boots.
