Activities: Excursion to Amantani and Suasi Islands,
ending in Puno, Peru

Day 1: PUNO–UROS ISLAND
EXCURSION– AMANTANI (OVERNIGHT)
At 8:00am, we will go to Puno main port to
board the motorboat. After 30 minutes of motorboat, you
will arrive at the Uros Island. Fishermen and hunters
inhabit the Uros floating islands. The residents of the
Uros use the cattail, a type of rush, which grows in the
lake, to create the conditions that ensure the islands
stay afloat. The dense roots that the plants develop
support the island. The roofs are waterproof and the
houses are extremely humid because of the surrounding
water. At present they speak Quechua and Aymara. We will
visit Chumi, Totora, Paradise floating island, also we
are going to board “Totora Boat” for a tour. Then, we
will board the motorboat to go to Amantani Island.
Reception by the residents. After that, we will take
lunch offered by the residents.
We will visit Pachatata
and Pachamama (4130m.s.n.m) ceremonial centers.
These are Pre-Incas construction on Coanos and Llacas Titi
hills. The residents dedicate to agriculture, handcraft,
textile.
At night, the family who will lodge us will offer a
folkloric show and dinner. Overnight. (L,D)
Day 2: AMANTANI AND SUASI
ISLAND EXCURSION
At 7:00 am, by motorboat we will go to Suasi
Island (3 hours approximately).
Arrival to Suasi Island. In the evening, we will visit
the island, which is an harmonic space between the man
and the nature. In this place, we will appreciate the
flora and the fauna, and also we will visit the natural
viewpoints. (B)
Day 3: SUASI – CAMBRIA (BY
MOTORBOAT) CAMBRIA – MOHO – HUANCANE – TARACO – PUNO (BY
BUS)
At 9:00am, we will go by boat to Cambria (30
minutes approximately) where will take a comfortable bus
to go back to Puno. On the route, we will pass by aymara
and quechua towns like: Moho, Huancané, Taraco, Juliaca
and Puno. Arrival to Puno city at noon. Transfer to your
Hotel (B)
